About Urjaveer

  • 1. INTRODUCTION

The Urjaveer initiative is a visionary program by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) which empowers grassroots level low-income citizens (primarily those working at community level e.g. Self-Help Groups, State Livelihood Missions etc.) to participate in the promotion of energy-efficient appliances through EESLmart.in by creating added income opportunities for participants, fostering both awareness and adoption of energy efficiency across India. This program aligns with global sustainability goals, including G20 and COP28 targets, focusing on doubling the rate of energy efficiency improvements to combat climate change.

  • 2. STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE

The program focuses on the domestic sector, which holds significant potential for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per investment unit. Improving energy efficiency in households can lead to considerable energy savings and emission reductions. Despite widespread adoption of LED lamps as a beacon of energy efficiency, general awareness of energy efficiency remains limited, particularly in some urban & rural areas.
